Ashley Jackson
Biography
Ashley Jackson is a second-year MD candidate at the University of Ottawa after graduating with a BSc. (Hons) in Medical Sciences at Dalhousie University in 2020. Ashley is passionate about the social determinants of health and has a particular research interest in the field of oncology. As a former varsity basketball player, she has spent time involved with the sport both as a coach of the Halifax Hurricanes and as student assistant with the University of King’s College. Ashley has been involved with numerous organizations over the years including United Way, the North End Community Health Centre, and as a recreation volunteer at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building. She is currently an executive on the University of Ottawa Oncology and Anatomy Interest Groups and serves on her MD Class Charity Committee. Ashley’s goal is to become a surgical oncologist and she intends to pursue a MSc in Oncology.
