Jesse Schelfhout
Biography
Jesse has recently completed a Master of Physics degree at UWA, following a Bachelor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics with First-Class Honours in Physics. He has conducted research with an atomic clock, supercomputers, a cosmic ray particle detector, and radio telescopes. In addition to his studies, Jesse has held posts as Postgraduate Coordinator and Residential Advisor at St Catherine’s College, UWA, plays the euphonium and tuba in musical ensembles, and is a national level javelin thrower. He is an experienced tutor and often volunteers time to help those around him with their studies. At Oxford, Jesse plans to conduct research combining his interests in atomic physics, astrophysics, and particle physics, in testing fundamental physics and finding application in the burgeoning quantum technology sector.
