Elvin Irihamye
Biography
Elvin N. Irihamye is currently completing a B.S in Neuroscience at Indiana University where he is a Herman B. Wells Scholar. Elvin co-founded and is president of "The Eckford Mentorship Program" a nonprofit using industry and academic partnerships to bring Black, Latinx and Native American talent into the workforce through 1:1 virtual mentorship. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Elvin was active in helping to expand a start-up that used virtual companionship to improve the mental health of nursing home residents.
Elvin hopes to read for an MSc in Applied Digital Health and the MSc in Global Healthcare leadership at Oxford. Elvin is passionate about implementing electronic medical record systems, mobile health technologies and big data analytics to address healthcare inequities in resource-constrained countries.
In his free time, Elvin enjoys playing sports, being outdoors, reading and watching Mad Men.
