Laura McArthur
Biography
Laura is passionate about health equity. She graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine in 2020 and is currently working as a junior doctor. Inspired by patients’ stories and motivated to bridge the divide between medical knowledge, policy and health outcomes, Laura has a particular interest in health equity for Indigenous Australians and the elimination of diseases such as trachoma and rheumatic heart disease.
At University, Laura was Education Officer for Ignite Global Health and volunteered with the Burnet Institute on infectious diseases research, contributing to journal articles. She was selected for the prestigious Vice-Chancellor's Ancora Imparo Leadership Program and enjoys teaching junior medical students.
Laura is a keen debater and public speaker and loves swimming and hiking.
