Wafa Zaka
Biography
Wafa Zaka is a senior in the Politics department at Princeton University. She undertook various research projects with the Global History Lab, which led her to develop a passion for diversifying the range of voices that narrate global history. She worked as a researcher at the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in Russia and the Empirical Studies of Conflict Lab (ESOC) in the US. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, she built the History Dialogues Coronavirus Archive to record the global response to the pandemic, focusing on documenting marginalized narratives. At Princeton, she served as the Interview Editor and Social Media Chair of the Nassau Literary Review, the second oldest undergraduate literary magazine in the US, and as the President of the Pakistani Student Association. At Oxford, she hopes to produce robust scholarship on South Asian history to move beyond Western-centric narratives of global history.
