Dayne Walling
Biography
Dayne Walling is the Principal and Senior Policy Advisor for 21P/M/C Policy & Management Consultancy. His previous professional experience includes serving two terms as mayor of his hometown of Flint, Michigan, and working for nonprofit organizations and local government entities. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, on the Michigan Community Service Commission, and as chairperson of the national Manufacturing Alliance of Communities. Dayne also is a doctoral candidate in geography at the University of Minnesota with a research agenda including urban redevelopment, the politics of scale, planning and infrastructure, public policy analysis, and Midwestern cities. He has served as an adjunct faculty at numerous colleges and universities in Michigan. He was a Rhodes and Truman scholar, an Aspen Rodel fellow, and an AmeriCorps alum. Dayne has a B.A. in Social Relations from James Madison College, Michigan State University; a B.A. in Modern History from St. Peter’s College at the University of Oxford; and a M.A. in Contemporary Urban Affairs from Goldsmith’s College, University of London.
