Abdulla Alhashmi
Biography
Abdulla is a senior at New York University Abu Dhabi, majoring in Economics and Philosophy. His research revolves around the topics of education, economics, and the future of work. As an intern at the Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC), Abdulla supports in conducting research for the purpose of streamlining the journey from education to employment in the UAE. As a volunteer with the Boys Education Network at NYUAD, Abdulla facilitated discussions about leadership, education, and masculinity for middle and high school students. Abdulla also volunteered as an Emirati dialect coach for 'Ramsah Table', a student led conversation group for Emirati dialect learners and speakers. At Oxford, Abdulla plans to investigate the role of education in a country's transition towards becoming a knowledge-based economy. Abdulla enjoys reading the economic history of the places he's travelled to, shooting 35mm film, and playing outdoor sports.
